Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Northern Light Mercy Hospital. This is a temporary, 36 hour/week, 12-week position with an enhanced pay rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, evaluate, and treat pediatric through geriatric cardiopulmonary patients with respiratory and/or cardiac impairment.
  • Perform duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds in critical care areas and participate in education of students/other staff.
  • Protect patients or staff members using safety equipment.
  • Maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a 2-year associate degree or a 4-year Baccalaureate Degree NBRC approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Maine State professional license and meet the current license eligibility requirements of the NBRC.
  • BLS certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
  • Minimum of at least 2 years' experience depending on education.
Working Conditions

Potential exposure to diseases or infections. Potential exposure to hazardous materials. Work beyond the regularly scheduled hours. Lifting, moving and loading 30 to 50 pounds. Lifting, moving and loading 20 to 30 pounds. Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends). Prolonged periods of standing. Prolonged periods of walking.
