Job Summary:

The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our team. Our practice focuses on shelter medicine, community education, and team development. As a Veterinarian, you will provide comprehensive medical care to our shelter animals, ensuring their health and well-being remain paramount.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans for shelter animals.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including spay/neuter, as necessary and oversee post-operative care.
  • Ensure the overall well-being of shelter animals by providing preventive care, administering medications, and monitoring their health on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and address potential public health concerns related to shelter animals, including disease recognition and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all shelter animals.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from an accredited university.
  • Valid veterinary license in the State of South Dakota.
  • Ability to become DEA licensed.
  • Previous experience in practicing in a small animal clinic or shelter environment is highly desirable.
