Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Repair Technician to join our team at Altorfer Industries Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing service repairs, including components and general maintenance, to provide superior service and represent our professional image.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service repairs, including components and general maintenance, to provide superior service and represent our professional image.
  • Fill out service reports, inspection checklists, and timecards within department guidelines.
  • Communicate extra time needed to complete tasks to the dispatcher.
  • Use SIS, ET, parts, and service manuals to complete tasks.
  • Properly segment jobs and order parts accordingly.
  • Return unneeded parts immediately upon job completion and complete all necessary warranty documentation.
  • Effectively communicate job status to customers and office personnel.
  • Work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Capable of in-depth electrical, hydraulic, and power train related troubleshooting using prescribed tools, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Maintain Altorfer supplied tooling and equipment, including personal tooling.
  • Technician may be required to orchestrate special parts arrangements to ensure that downtime is reduced as much as possible.
  • Perform mechanical work relating to the business of the department.
  • Keep current with industry standards.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, with excellent work ethic, neat appearance, and good communication skills.
  • Use safe working practices.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of five years equipment repair and diagnostic experience.
  • Proficient with Excel and email.
  • Ability to perform high-quality repairs, in an efficient fashion, and maintain a clean working environment while working in the shop.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Ability to use resources for information (when written documentation is not available).
  • Has good decision-making practices and ability to follow directions.
  • Demonstrates effective communication ability, representing Altorfer's professional image to customers and office personnel.
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to write technical reports.
  • Must have intermediate keyboarding skills with a basic knowledge of Office software, preferably MS Word.
Working Conditions

This position works the majority of time in a construction equipment shop. May work in the field or jobsites as needed. May on a continuous basis walk, bend, and lift up to 100lbs. At times, you may be required to move/operate equipment to figure out what maintenance needs to be performed. The noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate to high. This position also spends a portion of time in an office environment. May sit at a desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer the telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.

Must be flexible to work Saturdays and overtime as needed.
