Job Overview
As a Roadway Marking Technician at AWP Safety, you will play a crucial role in executing all tasks associated with the roadway marking process.

Compensation
Pay Rate is determined by experience, ranging from $19/hr to $23/hr.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various vehicles and equipment, including hand machines, forklifts, hand grinders, thermo hand liners, adhesive applicator tools, and pavement painting apparatus.
  • Transport materials and equipment to job sites using heavy-duty trucks and tow trailers.
  • Utilize jackhammers, coring machines, and augers effectively.
  • Interpret and understand blueprint plans.
  • Maintain and repair all striping equipment for applications on asphalt and concrete surfaces.
  • Collaborate with the highway striping crew to install preformed thermoplastic and other roadway marking materials.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers, both manually and with a forklift.
  • Comprehend the minimum requirements of the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) and adhere to all city specifications.
  • Assist in painting various roadway marking surfaces.
  • Support the application of thermoplastic materials.
  • Help in laying and installing hot tape.
  • Mark out traffic lanes, parking stalls, and/or prefabricated materials.
  • Set up and dismantle traffic control signage at job sites.
  • Understand traffic control measures to establish lane closures for striping operations.
  • Accurately complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and Daily Logs.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Obtain ATSSA and state-specific certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
