Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Extinguisher Technician/Kitchen Fire Suppression Specialist to join our team at Fire Systems of Michigan. As a key member of our Fire Protection Systems division, you will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and installations on fire extinguishers and emergency lighting for our established customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems to ensure compliance with NFPA and local fire codes.
  • Install and repair fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens, including ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, and Piranha systems.
  • Conduct on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems and identify NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
  • Prepare accurate and timely inspection and service reports for customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain work being done and any necessary repairs.
  • Maintain van stock quantities of equipment and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience performing fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance.
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer, and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb, work from ladders, and work in confined spaces.
