We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Counselor to join our team at Heavens Place Recovery Center. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing assessment, education, and counseling services to individuals struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of chemical dependency, psychiatric diagnoses, and treatment modalities. You will work closely with our clinical team to provide individualized treatment plans, conduct comprehensive assessments, and facilitate group counseling sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance use history and develop individualized treatment plans based on ASAM criteria.
- Provide evidence-based practices, including individual sessions, group counseling, and addiction/mental health education, in accordance with CARF/COMAR regulations.
- Document treatment provided, clients' progress, and response to treatment, as well as maintaining related records and charts in our EMR system.
- Develop and write treatment plans based on client assessments, encourage client engagement, and ensure timely clinical information from intake to discharge.
- Caseload will include some complex cases requiring more intensive services, with weekly supervision required to discuss team collaboration and team meetings mandatory.
- Work requires knowledge of chemical dependency, psychiatric diagnoses, and treatment modalities, normally acquired through a minimum associate's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related areas.
- Must have and maintain certification as an LCADC, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, ADT, or licensure as LMSW/LGPC, including CPR and First Aid certification in the State of Maryland.
- Must possess analytical skills sufficient to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when conducting assessments and therapy sessions, making treatment recommendations, and providing crisis intervention services.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships and professional boundaries with staff, clients, and their families.
