We are continually evolving support services to meet the needs of our diverse residents as they age; we partner with health care providers to identify innovative ways to support residents' overall health and well-being, and we engage with the broader community through our Village Center program. We have five campuses in metropolitan Boston and plans for additional housing for older adults soon.

Position Summary

As Director of Resident Support, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of our residents. You will oversee and participate in developing and delivering support services and engaging programs tailored to their diverse needs. This position requires a compassionate and experienced leader with a strong commitment to serving older adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Assessment and Care Coordination: Provide oversight of, and conduct initial and annual resident assessments (i.e., evaluation of social, psychological, cognitive, and physical needs). Supervise the development and implementation of individual service plans/case management services resulting from assessment findings. Coordinate care with outside providers, agencies, and medical facilities as needed.
  • Supportive Counseling and Advocacy: Provide supportive counseling to both residents and families, referring to outside community resources as appropriate. Advocate for residents' needs and concerns within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Identify and develop engaging programs and activities that meet the social, emotional, and recreational needs of our residents. Collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure program quality and effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of dedicated support staff. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes resident well-being and staff satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate programs and services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in social work, gerontology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Significant experience working with older adults in a residential setting is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
