About the Role:
Our company, Great Lakes Ace Hardware, is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, generating sales, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Key Responsibilities:
• Greet all customers and assist in answering questions about merchandise and locating products
• Use the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find everything on their lists
• Complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise, checking paperwork against items received when required, and replenish stock when necessary
• Display and maintain merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters, or tables following company plan-ogram, building displays when necessary to attract customers and promote sales within specified guidelines by your management team
• Maintain on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports, including cycle count and negative on-hand
• Follow the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness
• Maintain familiarity with new products and ad merchandise
• Practice loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses
• Work with colleagues and customers effectively and professionally

Requirements:
• Six months related experience and/or training preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with customers or associates of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may work near outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation:
$12.50 per hour
