Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of janitorial services, including cleaning and light maintenance of school facilities.
  • Follow a cleaning schedule to ensure the school buildings are cleaned and maintained in an orderly fashion.
  • Support the School's spiritual and pastoral mission by upholding the values and principles of the Catholic Church.
  • Provide set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities and events as directed.
  • Maintain a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment in all maintenance closets; properly account for materials and equipment.
  • Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools.
  • Comply with safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent education.
  • Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church.
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, students, and the general public.
  • Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required.
  • Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance.
  • Be able to read directions and label safety warnings. Must be safety-conscious.
  • A thorough knowledge of the use of the tools and equipment associated with custodial work and general maintenance.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background, criminal history check.
  • Possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Language Skills

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is also essential.

Mathematical Skills

The candidate should be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs is also required.
