Job Summary

Flagship Facility Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Staff Member to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our office environments.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors using industrial equipment. Dust and clean walls, ceilings, and light fixtures. Remove trash and recyclables, and maintain a clean and organized janitor's closet.
  • Carpeted Areas: Empty waste baskets, dust and clean office furniture, vacuum all carpeting, and spot clean soiled areas on carpets as needed.
  • Lunchroom/Break Areas: Empty waste baskets, wipe and clean all table tops and chairs, wipe and clean vending machines and appliances, and clean sink and counter areas.
  • Restrooms: Empty waste baskets, clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals, sweep and mop floors with disinfectant, and spot clean walls, partitions, and doors.
  • Non-Carpeted Areas: Empty waste baskets, sweep and spot mop tile floors, complete damp mop tile floors, and dust and clean cleared desks and surfaces of tables.
  • Periodic Tasks: Clean overhead vents, dust blinds, polish wood furniture, dust high partitions and ledges, and clean interior partition glass.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 6 months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.
  • Skills: Knowledge of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities, good listening and verbal communication skills, ability to maintain a neat appearance, and punctuality.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to perform repetitive movements, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash and the ability to safely use equipment provided.
