Job Summary

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Immunohematology courses in the Medical Laboratory Technology Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Immunohematology and experience in teaching and learning strategies in a community college or higher education environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver lectures, facilitate classroom discussions, and determine materials needed for student laboratories.
  • Evaluate student performance and assign grades according to program standards.
  • Challenge and engage students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching students and engaging them in the learning process.
  • Complete all end-of-term responsibilities, including submission of final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and other designated materials on a timely basis.
  • Consult with program chair or other appropriate College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and procedures.
  • Respond to requests from students, faculty, department heads, committee chairs, and Records Office in a timely and thorough manner.
Requirements
  • Associate degree from a NAACLS-accredited MLT program.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP).
  • A minimum of two years of recent work experience in a clinical Immunohematology laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a NAACLS-accredited MLT program.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP).
  • A minimum of four years of recent work experience in a clinical Immunohematology laboratory.
  • Documented experience with active teaching and learning strategies in a community college, professional training, or other higher education environment.

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population.
  • Ability and willingness to successfully interact with academic, clinical, and accreditation personnel.
  • Self-motivated, team player with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others, assuring timeliness, dependability, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge and skill in computer usage with a variety of software.
