Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Student Assistant to join our team at Albright College. As a Library Student Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent service to our students, faculty, and staff by assisting with various library operations, including circulation, reserves, and interlibrary loan services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to library patrons, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with circulation, reserves, and interlibrary loan services, including checking in and out books, materials, and other resources.
  • Direct patrons to the proper department or reference librarian as needed.
  • Answer phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, such as making bulletin boards, creating signs, and finding lost items.
  • Assist patrons with technology and equipment-related questions.
  • Contribute to the library's outreach and social media efforts.
  • Compile statistical data and perform data entry tasks.
  • Participate in summer project-based work as needed.
Requirements
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week, including mornings, nights, and occasional weekends.
