Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving functions, including administrative tasks. The position may be required to support other related departments or functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter orders into the system for billing and delivery
  • Prepare quotes and coordinate mailings
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with dispatch
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Categorize, file, and maintain ship ticket copies for audit purposes and file all customer records
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks
  • Properly check in goods and supplies at the time of receiving
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure packaging meets specifications
  • Help control inventory by following pick ticket rules and regulations
  • Responsible for the lock down of each bay and personnel door located in the warehouse
  • Deliver paperwork to the inventory office in a timely manner after issues
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • At least 1 year of related experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Good with basic math
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to lift products and other objects weighing up to 65 lbs. and engaging in team lifting or using lifting devices when necessary
  • Frequent walking, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, standing, extending arms to reach, etc.
  • Able to work in dusty, small, noisy, hot, and cold environments
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers to use a PC and keyboard
  • Bending and some lifting
  • Extensive phone and radio use
  • Tasks can be very repetitive
  • Slight lifting of ship tickets and overnight packages
