Job Overview

Leonard Aluminum Utility Buildings is seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Leonard Mount Airy Plant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our fleet operations, including maintenance, personnel management, route planning, compliance, and budgeting.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. You will work closely with production teams to prioritize and address immediate maintenance needs, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and schedules.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility issues, diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with production teams to prioritize and address immediate maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues in manufacturing machinery and support equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the facility, including plumbing, HVAC systems, lighting, and general repairs.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Identify and address safety hazards promptly, contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies for maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects, such as tools and equipment, during maintenance tasks.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, and reach while performing maintenance tasks or accessing equipment.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking to inspect machinery, conduct preventive maintenance, and address facility issues.
  • Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for maintenance tasks, requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb ladders or access elevated areas to perform maintenance activities.
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks associated with maintenance, including walking, lifting, and using tools for extended periods.
  • Good vision to inspect machinery and identify potential issues, read equipment manuals, and work on detailed tasks.
