Mechanical Repair Specialist

This position involves performing repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment and components, including servo motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with disassembling and assembling industrial machinery, as well as operating pneumatic and manual hand tools and measuring tools.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect equipment and components for physical damage, missing parts, and leaks.
- Disassemble equipment and components, measuring gears, shafts, bearings, and other components as needed.
- Diagnose mechanical and electric failures by conducting root cause analysis and testing parts and equipment.
- Review schematic drawings and perform internet-based research to identify parts and procedures.
- Perform work on lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and other general machine shop equipment.
- Clean parts, tools, and equipment during disassembly, evaluation, and repair.
- Use tools such as torches, grinders, hydraulic and mechanical pullers to perform disassembly and repair work.
- Meet with leadership to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjust work activities accordingly.
- Attend to, clean, and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
- Ensure all products are completed to production, quality, and technical specifications.
- Pull jobs to quote from staging area and obtain approved units from WAPP area and transfer to workstation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Participate in ongoing training and other company programs to develop job skills.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-3 years previous hands-on work experience disassembling/assembling industrial and/or commercial machinery or equipment required.
- Experience using pneumatic and manual hand tools and measuring tools (i.e., micrometers).
- Previous experience operating industrial equipment like forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, etc. required.
The work environment is a climate-controlled, well-lit mechanical shop environment. Occasional travel to customer or vendor sites or to attend off-site training may be required.
