Job Overview

The Software Engineer specializing in web applications plays a crucial role within the Software Engineering team at TEKsystems. This position is essential for the design, development, and upkeep of various software solutions, including web applications, autonomous services, and utility programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the development of web applications and provide tailored software solutions.
  • Create and maintain Stored Procedures for SQL Server databases.
  • Oversee the deployment and release of web-based application systems as necessary.
  • Conduct daily operations and maintenance tasks, including managing web servers, troubleshooting issues, and addressing service desk ticket escalations.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven experience in developing web applications and services using ASP.NET, C#, VB.Net, JavaScript, and VBScript.
  • Extensive background in web development utilizing MVC, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, and AngularJS.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL Server and TSQL.
  • Ability to apply software development principles, including design concepts and integration practices.
  • In-depth understanding of object-oriented design and n-tier development.
  • Familiarity with SQL Reporting Services is advantageous.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Visio.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with task management tools such as Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with stakeholders and define system requirements.
  • Understanding of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements and regulations.
Education and Certification

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a web developer or software engineer.
  • CompTIA certification is necessary for compliance with DoD 8570.
Work Environment

This position requires a day shift schedule and is a full-time role. The potential for teleworking is not available, and travel may be required up to 10%.
