Overview

Your role will ensure that client specifications are fulfilled while adhering to established timelines and budgetary constraints, all in alignment with MasTec's safety protocols and operational standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of safety by effectively communicating and adhering to all safety policies and objectives within the project team.
  • Perform all duties expected of a Construction Manager II, alongside the additional responsibilities of a Construction Manager III.
  • Guide the project team in collaboration with the Project Manager to cultivate a respectful and productive work environment.
  • Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and assessment of the construction project.
  • Supervise construction personnel and their leads, including other Construction Managers.
  • Coordinate the activities of Construction Managers, Foremen, and various trade workers, as well as manage suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Execute supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and relevant legal requirements.
  • Track and direct the progress of construction activities on-site.
  • Identify the need for and negotiate Change Orders in conjunction with the Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager.
  • Assess labor needs for the project.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Ensure that production timelines are adhered to, measuring performance and meeting project requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with established regulations.
  • Analyze project cost indices and adapt strategies to enhance project outcomes.
  • Review, communicate, and enhance productivity metrics provided by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain systematic and organized records for the entire project.
  • Oversee all necessary documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats to diverse groups, including employees, clients, and engineers.
  • Uphold and enforce discipline across the job site.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train direct reports; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline employees; address grievances and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the client's site management team to ensure their expectations are met and that they are satisfied with the quality and safety of the construction.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to ensure that client expectations are managed realistically and align with the agreed scope of work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Solar or EPC Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction techniques, estimating, and management.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in organizing, instructing, and supervising a construction crew across all construction phases.
  • Ability to estimate project costs accurately.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and communicate effectively with teams and superiors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including email, internet applications, and project documentation.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Competent in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective public speaking skills for presentations to groups of employees or clients.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra and geometry.
  • Adept at problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions.
