Key Responsibilities
  • Provide short and long-term therapy to students, addressing their mental health needs and promoting overall well-being.
  • Offer support to families and parents of Arrupe College students, fostering a sense of community and connection.
  • Conduct psycho-social assessments, diagnoses, and develop recommendations for behavioral and clinical interventions.
  • Collaborate with student personnel workers, school personnel, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Develop and implement programming related to mental health and wellness, including the Spirit of Arrupe Sommer Orientation program and the Arrupe College Wellness Fair.
  • Make referrals to public or private social service agencies, engaging in follow-up as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community resources, promoting seamless communication and support.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide written reports and communications as required.
  • Participate in in-service training and planning, sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Act as a consultant to resolve problems related to behavioral and clinical factors affecting academic performance.
  • Participate in educational planning processes, ensuring student success.
  • Respond to immediate student needs and concerns, providing timely support and guidance.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field.
  • State of Illinois LCSW or LCPC license, or ability to attain within 90 days.
  • Experience working with individuals with exceptional needs, preferably in a college or young adult population.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, preferred.
