Position Overview:
The Case Manager role is essential within the Office of Early Childhood Services. This position is dedicated to supporting Early Intervention students aged 3-5 years who require multiple related services as outlined in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The Case Manager will facilitate collaboration among parents, service providers, and educational teams to ensure compliance with IEP timelines.

Qualifications Required:
  • Valid certification in Special Education PK-12/Special Education PK-8 is mandatory.
  • Preferred certification in Early Childhood PK-4 (N-3).
  • At least two years of experience in Special Education is desirable.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Must demonstrate empathy and a supportive demeanor when interacting with children.
  • Capability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in making independent decisions regarding student interactions.
  • Clearances from relevant state and federal agencies are required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative during IEP meetings for assigned students.
  • Ensure all evaluation processes adhere to Special Education regulations and timelines.
  • Verify that the IEP accurately reflects the student's annual goals.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, preschool staff, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with personnel from Comprehensive and Related Service Provider agencies.
  • Support the transition of students from Early Intervention to school-age programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Program Administrator.

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit serves children across the region, providing a supportive and dynamic educational environment. The Early Intervention Program is organized into four regions, with specific locations determined during the hiring process.
