About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Safety Specialist with a Class A CDL to join our team at Airgas. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing driver training programs, safety procedures, and policies to reduce accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement driver training programs to enhance safe driving practices and reduce accidents.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Director and other departments to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Provide administrative support for safety-related tasks, including record-keeping and reporting.
  • Train employees on safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain safety records and reports to track progress and identify trends.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Sales departments to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the business.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field (e.g. safety, transportation, business).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat, Airbrake, and Tanker endorsements.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and DHS regulations and training requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including occasional overnight travel.
