Job Summary

The Transportation Analyst I is responsible for managing and coordinating bulk customer interactions to validate order accuracy at the Transportation Management System (TMS) level. This includes verifying customer information, order details, and other critical data points to ensure seamless logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and document customer contacts according to established call script guidelines.
  • Update data in TMS and notify customer service teams via email.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining order integrity and verifying all order information.
  • Develop strong customer service skills, supporting multiple customer accounts and providing courteous phone interactions.
  • Analyze data to identify cost and service improvement opportunities, implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Utilize transportation software systems to optimize routing and shipment consolidation, minimizing costs.
  • Coordinate daily activities to track delivery status and movement of goods to customers, both internal and external.
  • Communicate with sites to optimize customer service and freight spend, working with the shipping department to establish and maintain dock adjustments.
  • Route special customer orders, including white glove and hot loads, and act as a first point of contact for brokers and carriers.
  • Work with DRP planners, sites, and carriers to ensure internal transfers are shipping timely, and assist carriers with pickup and delivery appointments.
  • Provide daily reporting to the Senior Planner on issues related to sites and carriers, attending meetings as needed with sites, carriers, and cross-functionally.
Requirements
  • Strong core competency in integrated planning approaches, critical thinking, task management, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to change and exercise discretion while managing confidential information.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Internet software.
