Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Construction Equipment Operator to join our team at Iron Woman Construction & Environmental Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support our excavation and installation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, trackhoes, and loaders to excavate and install underground utilities.
  • Ensure safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading to prevent accidents.
  • Locate and mark underground utilities before digging to avoid damage.
  • Install underground sewer, water, and storm drain systems.
  • Excavate and backfill utility trenches.
  • Operate a loader to move pipe and fittings and manage bedding stockpiles.
  • Perform heavy lifting and labor as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing sewer, water, and storm drain systems.
  • Ability to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment, including backhoes, trackhoes, and loaders.
  • Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training highly preferred.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, climbing, and using hands to signal and handle equipment. Occasional standing, walking, crawling, kneeling, bending, and reaching are also required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.
