Job Summary

Astor & Sanders Corporation is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our team. As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and identifying business requirements, developing GIS maps and data layers, and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new mapping interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and identify business requirements based on newly identified business needs
Develop GIS maps and data layers using Esri's ArcGIS software
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new mapping interfaces
Create testing scripts and monitor user testing and collection of feedback
Manage GIS data and metadata for quality control and develop and comply with standards

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Conservation, Ecology, or a related field
5-7 years of GIS development experience using Esri's ArcGIS software
Experience with ArcGIS Online data management and mapping
Knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS
Knowledge of R or R Shiny
Big Data and data modeling experience
Understanding of concise metadata writing and effective workflow reproducibility
Experience with spatial data management and manipulation
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good analytical skills and a creative self-starter with the ability to work effectively with multiple partners
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Biological training or experience preferred
