Astor & Sanders Corporation is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Analyze and document business requirements to inform GIS mapping and data layer development.
  • Develop technical specifications for new mapping interfaces.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and create testing scripts.
  • Monitor user feedback and ensure compliance with agency guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage GIS data and metadata for quality control and develop standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Conservation, Ecology, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of GIS development experience using Esri's ArcGIS.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online data management and mapping.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Knowledge of R or R Shiny.
  • Big Data and data modeling experience.
  • Understanding of concise metadata writing and effective workflow reproducibility.
  • Experience with spatial data management and manipulation.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills and a creative self-starter with the ability to work effectively with multiple partners.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Biological training or experience preferred.
