We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join our team at Crete Professionals Alliance. As an Audit Associate, you will play a crucial role in assisting with financial audits and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records with established accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements for clients in various industries.
- Prepare audit workpapers, documenting findings, and ensuring they comply with the firm's policies and procedures.
- Review prior audit reports, analyze financial data, and assess key risk areas.
- Conduct tests of internal controls and substantive procedures on key areas of financial statements, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Verify client financial information by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
- Perform analytical procedures to identify any irregularities, variances, or trends that require further investigation.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with GAAP or IFRS.
- Prepare and review audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations in formal audit reports for submission to clients.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to gather necessary audit evidence and resolve any discrepancies.
- Respond to client queries and provide feedback on audit-related matters in a professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and audit regulations.
- Ensure that all audit documentation is completed and properly filed in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Audit Seniors, Managers, and Partners to deliver high-quality audit services.
- Provide assistance on special projects and other duties as required.
- Stay up to date on accounting and auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
- Participate in internal and external training programs to improve technical and soft skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or working toward obtaining it) is preferred but not mandatory.
- 0-2 years of experience in auditing, public accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with audit software (e.g., CaseWare) is a plus.
- Understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
