Pharmacy Technician II

As a Pharmacy Technician II at SUNY Upstate Medical University, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the distribution of medications, maintaining accurate inventory, and monitoring patients. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will be essential in ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in drug distribution and maintain accurate medication inventory
- Monitor patients and ensure accurate medication reconciliation
- Enter information into patient medical records for hospital staff to use in determining appropriate therapy
- Work with a working knowledge of over 2000 drug entities, including brand, generic, and chemical names
To be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:
- NYS pharmacy technician license and National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification plus 6 months of pharmacy technician experience, and NYS pharmacy technician license within 6 months
- Associates Degree or NYS licensed/registered LPN or 1 year of pharmacy technician experience (or successful completion of a military or other accredited pharmacy technician training program)
Hospital experience is preferred, but not required.
Work ScheduleThis role requires rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
