The Senior Vice President of Aggregate Operations is a pivotal position located in Irving, TX, reporting directly to the Region President of the Southwest Region. This role is integral to the executive team, responsible for steering safety and operational excellence across our aggregates operations in multiple states.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and digital transformation within the organization.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and logistics teams to achieve both annual and long-term strategic objectives.
- Oversee plant operations and heavy mobile equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency, quality assurance, and resource management.
- Develop and implement tactical and strategic plans that yield consistent and sustainable operational results.
- Generate innovative ideas and manage short and long-term capital planning projects effectively.
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition and merger opportunities, managing resources to expand our operational footprint.
- Enhance and refine operational procedures, policies, and standards to align with industry best practices.
- Analyze performance reports and financial statements to assess progress towards objectives, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Evaluate management staff performance, fostering a culture of development and mentorship to cultivate future leaders.
- Represent the organization at various legislative sessions and committee meetings, ensuring our interests are effectively communicated.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company guidelines within the scope of responsibility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the industry, particularly in management roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management, including P&L statements and budgeting.
- Extensive knowledge of the aggregates sector, including market dynamics and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing multiple sites effectively.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Familiarity with digitalization and sustainability practices in the construction materials industry.
- Proven track record in safety, employee development, and team leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- MBA or additional advanced education, training, or certifications.
- Established network within the industry, including connections with trade associations.
- Experience across various product lines such as aggregates, hot-mix asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and road construction.
This role primarily operates in a professional office setting but requires engagement at manufacturing sites and job locations, which may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, varying weather conditions, and elevated noise levels.
