Position Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. This position operates under the guidance of the Director of Respiratory Therapy, ensuring high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer both basic and advanced therapeutic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
2. Execute emergency and acute respiratory care interventions in line with established departmental protocols.
3. Conduct thorough checks and troubleshooting of respiratory care equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and quality control.
4. Initiate, monitor, and terminate mechanical ventilation for patients of all ages, ensuring adherence to best practices.
5. Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to enhance patient care and outcomes.
6. Provide educational support to patients and their families, fostering understanding and engagement in care processes.
7. Participate actively in quality assurance initiatives and organizational performance improvement projects.
Qualifications:
Registry eligibility as per the National Board for Respiratory Care is required. Candidates must hold a license from the State Board of Respiratory Care as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist – Registered (LRTR) within one year of employment.
