About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Level I to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain aseptic surgical fields, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment used in the operating room, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Transport patients and equipment, utilizing proper lifting and transferring techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and organized operating room, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform other physical demands of the role.
