Job Summary:

The Engine Builder will be responsible for assembling and building sub-assemblies and engines designed, manufactured, or serviced by Roush. This role will involve building engines, keeping detailed records of component data, and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and Build: Assemble and build any type of engine, following industry standard assembly techniques.
  • Measurement and Quality Control: Measure components to close tolerances, set and verify part clearances, and use measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Tool Operation: Use required hand tools and operate typical shop equipment, such as hoists and jacks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate engine build records, including component history data.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of engine build or mechanic experience.
  • Skills: Ability to operate typical shop equipment, diagnose engine mechanical issues, and possess basic computer skills and excellent organizational skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed, flexible, and eager to learn, with a strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree or post-high school education in an automotive-related field.
  • Experience: Experience with powertrain calibration diagnostics and controls, ability to complete engine teardown/build skills, and follow 543 charts.
  • Skills: Ability to perform simple fabrications.
