Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Probation Officer to join our team at the Colorado Judicial Branch. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals within our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations and assessments to determine treatment needs and risk to the community.
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to guide supervision and ensure compliance with court-imposed conditions.
  • Collaborate with other judicial districts and stakeholders to address victim-related concerns and provide support to victims.
  • Perform case management duties, including documenting client-related activities and reviewing client documents and court orders.
  • Conduct face-to-face appointments and interviews, and de-escalate hostile or agitated clients and potentially violent situations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Less than 1 year of experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, social work, psychology, or a similar field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including offices and jails. The individual must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and be exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
