Senior Instrumentation Engineer

Wood is currently seeking a highly skilled Facilities Instrumentation Engineer V to contribute to our engineering projects.
The Facilities Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Base Engineering Supervisor and will play a crucial role in the development and consistent application of engineering and construction standards for various facility projects. This includes areas such as Facility Debottlenecking, Artificial Lift Conversions, GHG Reduction Technology, and Operation/Maintenance Upgrades. The Engineer will work collaboratively with other departments to ensure successful project execution from initial concept through to commissioning and start-up phases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with various teams including Project Engineers, Production Operations, and Maintenance to develop and implement facility infrastructure plans.
- Provide troubleshooting and optimization support for Instrumentation and Electrical systems.
- Assist Project Teams during the execution, commissioning, and start-up of facility modifications.
- Contribute to the scope of work definition, design processes, and equipment selection for Base Facility Projects.
- Develop technical documentation including specifications, diagrams, and control narratives.
- Offer electrical engineering support in areas such as Electrical Areas Classification and Power Distribution Management.
- Work with I&E Designers to create detailed wiring diagrams and installation plans.
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) Process and participate in Safety Reviews.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and monitor project progress against forecasts.
- Lead initiatives to maintain Instrumentation and Electrical equipment standards.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate & Industry Engineering Standards.
- Oversee Engineering Contractors and support programming efforts related to PLC and SCADA systems.
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Controls, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Instrumentation and Electrical sector.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required to support field activities.
- Over 10 years of experience in relevant fields.
- Expertise in the design and construction of Oil & Gas facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of Technical Standards and OSHA regulations.
- Strong communication skills and experience in working with Operations and Maintenance teams.
