Chicago, Illinois, United States LIFT Full time

About Us

LIFT is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by investing in families. Our mission is to empower parents to set and achieve goals that put their families on the path toward economic mobility. We believe that racial and gender wealth gaps stem from structural inequities, and we aim to interrupt this cycle by partnering with parents to build well-being, financial strength, and social connections.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Career Coach to join our team. As a Career Coach, you will be responsible for facilitating one-on-one coaching relationships with parents to support them in achieving their career and financial goals. You will engage parents in goal setting and action planning, monitor their progress, and provide accountability and encouragement to parents over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate one-on-one coaching relationships with parents to support them in achieving their career and financial goals
  • Engage parents in goal setting and action planning, monitor their progress, and provide accountability and encouragement to parents over time
  • Connect parents to relevant community resources and information, and guide them as they practice new behaviors, actions, and skills necessary to reach goals
  • Provide support on LIFT's other projects, services, and parent recruitment efforts, as needed
  • Maintain accurate files/records and document services to parents in LIFT's online case management system
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters regarding the children and families served

About Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about helping families achieve economic mobility and is committed to LIFT's mission and values. Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with community partners and a diverse population.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $25,000 to $30,000 per year, depending on experience. Our compensation package includes a stipend of $500 for the fall semester, $500 for the spring semester, and an estimated $5,280 for the summer internship. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
