Job Summary:The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers with patient care, administrative tasks, and clinical procedures. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, BMI, respirations, and pulse.
- Collect and process specimens as directed by healthcare providers.
- Prepare patients for scheduled procedures by ensuring they are properly gowned and instruments and supplies are set up.
- Administer vaccines, medications, and controlled substances/narcotics as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Ask prescribed screening questions, identify risks and contraindications, and observe for appropriate responses.
- Document and process prescription requests and refills per protocol.
- Perform basic office procedures, examinations, and/or tests ordered by healthcare providers.
- Provide patients with standard patient care instructions and education, and review with patient and family members as directed by healthcare providers.
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program (Diploma) or National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire required.
- Basic Life Support upon hire required.
