Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional/C-arm Technologist to join our team at Duke University. As a key member of our Ambulatory Imaging Division, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks involved in operating radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated anatomical areas of interest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Explain procedures to patients and position them for each anatomical view using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and appropriateness of care for all assigned patients.
  • Assist radiologists during angiographic and interventional procedures, including handling of instruments, operating and monitoring equipment, and calling out equipment readings.
  • Scrub to assist with passage of catheters/guidewires and accurately process images for optimal quality.
  • Monitor charging of procedures and supplies for division to ensure correctness and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Provide orientation to new technologists and perform as a self-starter, taking the initiative to proactively address situations before they arise or escalate.
Requirements
  • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
  • Level I must obtain ARRT certification within 18 months of employment.
  • Level II Minimum of two years' experience as an Interventional technologist.
  • Level III A minimum of four years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT certification in radiography and vascular interventional technology.
  • BLS certification.
  • Ability to work with the most complex technology and assume a leadership role.
