Position Overview:
As a vital member of the educational team, the Audiologist plays a crucial role in fostering effective learning environments for all students. This position emphasizes collaboration with educators, families, and the community to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with school and community stakeholders to cultivate a supportive educational atmosphere for children.
2. Act as a liaison between the Area Education Agency, school districts, families, and community organizations to promote positive educational outcomes.
3. Design, implement, and evaluate strategies addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to enhance their educational experiences.
4. Provide expert consultation to educators and administrators on effective classroom practices and educational programs.
5. Deliver training on the implications of hearing loss and appropriate educational interventions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
6. Conduct assessments to identify auditory challenges within the student population, collaborating with audiometrists as needed.
7. Recommend necessary medical referrals and educational follow-up for students with identified needs.
8. Supervise audiometric screenings and testing conducted by audiometrists.

Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in Audiology is required.
2. An Iowa educational support license with a B-12 school audiologist endorsement or a Department of Public Health license with Department of Education authorization is necessary.
