Job Description

As a Paralegal Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in providing legal support to judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of legal matters and judicial work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present legal documents in courts-martial and other military justice matters
  • Provide assistance in legal affairs, such as power of attorney, wills, and separation decrees
Requirements
  • Ability to supervise and provide technical guidance to subordinates
  • Maintain a law/administrative library and monitor actions for accuracy

Your training will equip you with the skills to interview witnesses, research court decisions and Army regulations, process legal claims and appeals, and prepare records of hearings, investigations, courts-martial, and courts of inquiry.

Most non-prior service candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.

Requirements for Service
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
