Family Services Specialist

As a Family Services Specialist with the City of Winchester, VA, you will play a vital role in supporting families and children in need. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and address child safety and risk by conducting thorough assessments and investigations, developing and monitoring safety plans, and providing ongoing services.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct home visits to ensure the safety of children and families
• Assess service needs and coordinate referrals to enhance parenting skills and family functioning
• Engage and support families through collaborative family partnership meetings
• Prepare court reports and testify in court as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and local policy
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field or a related field with two years of experience in Social Work. You must also have a valid driver's license and be able to commute within a one-hour time frame of the City of Winchester limits. Additionally, you will need to pass a background check as part of the recruitment process.
