We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Service Associate to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Service Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of patients, maintaining par levels for supplies and equipment, and maintaining the overall appearance of our assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Transportation: Perform all patient, equipment, supply, and lab specimen transportation needs in a safe and professional manner.
- Supply Management: Ensure all equipment is properly disinfected and stored in proper storage areas. Maintain par levels for supplies and equipment in all areas.
- Environmental Services: Clean and maintain patient rooms, corridors, and public areas. Ensure all surfaces, equipment, and supplies are clean and tidy.
- Patient Care: Escort patients upon discharge to their cars and assist with transfer from wheelchair to car. Assist with patient transfer from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
- Deceased Body Transportation: Transport a patient's deceased body to the morgue in a careful, dignified, and respectful manner.
- Supply Inventory: Organize and manage supplies and equipment inventory in all areas. Ensure all needed equipment is cleaned and available for use.
- Corridor Clearance: Ensure all corridors on patient units and public areas are cleared of any equipment/supplies. Ensure all equipment and supplies are stored in the appropriate equipment/supply storage area.
- Equipment Maintenance: Identify and report any equipment that is not functioning correctly. Perform related duties as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Experience: Previous patient care healthcare experience, preferred. Previous experience utilizing medical equipment, preferred.
- Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English and ability to read, write, and speak English. Bi-lingual, a plus.
- Compassion: Must exhibit compassion and the Planetree principles.
