About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Indiana University Health. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing general laboratory services, including specimen collection, order entry, blood component preparation, and pre-analytic processing of specimens.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens for testing
  • Enter orders and prepare blood components for transfusion
  • Perform pre-analytic processing of specimens, including labeling and packaging
  • Assist with patient registration and specimen delivery
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate testing
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and good driving history may be required
  • Proven understanding of computers and telephone skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member
