Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing testing frameworks and automated tests for our cloud-based web architecture within a collaborative development team. This position requires a results-oriented and self-motivated individual with a solid background in JavaScript and software engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage and analyze failed automated test executions, reporting defects as necessary.
  • Maintain automated test jobs within a deployment pipeline.
  • Coordinate user feedback sessions for new features through bug hunts.
  • Identify and document test cases that effectively isolate faults.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with product management and development teams.
  • Engage in design and code reviews to ensure quality standards.
  • Conduct exploratory testing to identify high-risk areas, refine requirements, and enhance application testability.
  • Coordinate testing efforts across multiple teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Contribute to the development of robust and well-architected solutions for the shared testing framework.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the architecture, design, and customer use cases for team services.
  • Establish acceptance criteria for complex projects and prioritize test automation to balance efficiency with adequate coverage.
  • Identify performance, longevity, and architectural risks through the design and execution of longevity and destructive tests.
  • Assist support engineers with escalated customer issues by analyzing logs and clarifying intended behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on JavaScript.
  • Intermediate proficiency in:
    • Data analysis and interpretation using software analytics tools.
    • Automation and configuration management frameworks.
    • Version control systems.
    • Delivery pipeline automation tools.
    • Service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
    • Object-oriented design patterns.
    • Multi-tier web application architecture.
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies.
    • Agile testing methodologies and continuous delivery best practices.
    • Application frameworks for development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Typescript.
  • Familiarity with Playwright.
  • Knowledge of React/Redux.
