RN Cardiac Progressive Care Specialist

CPCU is a 28-bed unit dedicated to providing exceptional care to cardiac patients. Our state-of-the-art facility features 16 private rooms and 2 semi-private in-patient rooms, as well as 4 semi-private outpatient rooms. As the only Progressive Care unit to care for post-op open heart, Tikosyn, and post-cardiac intervention patients, our team of skilled RNs pulls femoral lines and manages radial bands, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

Scope of WorkThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. Our RNs work collaboratively with the Nurse Leader to provide quality patient care under the direction of Corewell Health policies and procedures. We recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes and strive to develop teaching strategies for patient/family education and learning.

- Associates in Nursing is required.
- Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke is required upon hire.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months.
- Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
