Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at St James Parish Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood bank analysis, urinalysis, and microbiology testing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Order lab tests accurately in the laboratory information system (LIS) computer system

* Receive and process lab samples for testing

* Ensure quality lab testing and instrument performance

* Maintain regulatory compliance guidelines

* Collect drug screens and label and handle lab specimens properly

* Perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples

* Maintain a clean and organized working area

* Research and resolve problems with lab samples and test reports

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Completion of a medical laboratory technician training program

* Certification as a medical laboratory technician (MLT) or medical technologist (MT)

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions:
