Position Overview

The Airport Minority Advisory Council is in search of a highly skilled Executive Director to oversee the operations of the Houma-Terrebonne Airport (HUM) and spearhead its economic initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring the airport's growth and operational excellence, reporting directly to the Board Chair of the Houma Terrebonne Airport Commission (HTAC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, adhering to the standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Marketing and Public Relations: Lead marketing strategies and public relations efforts to enhance the airport's visibility and foster relationships with stakeholders.
  • Economic Development: Identify and implement innovative technologies that promote business growth and attract new ventures.
  • Lease Negotiations: Oversee aviation and non-aviation lease agreements, with the authority to negotiate extensions and renewals.
  • Infrastructure Development: Manage the planning, funding, and execution of aviation infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Budget Coordination: Collaborate with congressional committees to influence budget submissions affecting airport operations.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide guidance to the Airport Commission, working closely with the Deputy Director to implement effective financial and management policies.
  • Financial Oversight: Maintain a robust financial framework, including the creation of annual budgets and support during audit processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in airport or aviation operations, with at least five years in a leadership capacity.
  • Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) or NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) certification, or a commitment to obtain post-hire.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate or higher (not mandatory).
  • Experience as a graduate of a recognized test pilot school (not mandatory).
  • Training and experience in Safety Management Systems.
  • FAA Part 107 Commercial UAS Operator Certificate or a commitment to obtain.
  • FAA Class II Medical Certificate or ability to obtain (not mandatory).
  • Experience as Pilot in Command during operational missions (not mandatory).
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $210,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package, including a vehicle allowance and relocation assistance.
