Job Title: Bridge Engineer 3

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer 3 to lead our growing Bridge Engineering Group within our Ohio Transportation Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and preparing plans, calculations, and specifications for transportation structures, including highway bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and other miscellaneous structures per AASHTO and ODOT requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and prepare plans, calculations, and specifications for transportation structures, including highway bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and other miscellaneous structures per AASHTO and ODOT requirements.
  • Provide analysis and load rating for existing structures and recommend improvement and strengthening strategies through knowledge and application of appropriate specifications, standards, and design criteria.
  • Collaborate with other professionals from various departments and disciplines and discuss requirements with clients to execute projects.
  • Perform work as part of a team or as a task/project manager, in accordance with the project budget and schedule limitations under moderate supervision.
  • Prepare engineering cost estimates, the scope of work documents, and proposals and assist other Project/Task Managers with similar duties.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to the project team to ensure quality technical services.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with quality control standards and client requirements.
  • Participate in occasional site visits in construction sites and remote outdoor work environments.
  • Occasional travel to client meetings and site visits with possible overnight stays.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in bridge engineering or a related field.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
