Retail Sales Associate Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at AEG. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will play a key role in enhancing customer experience and driving sales generation in our retail store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
  • Sales Generation: Assist guests with buying decisions, making recommendations for complementary products and accessories to drive retail store revenue.
  • Skate Sharpening and Repairs: Perform skate sharpening and complete general skate and equipment repairs, including changing skate blades and cutting hockey sticks.
  • Store Appearance: Maintain the appearance of the shop, merchandising new products, cleaning, and performing housekeeping duties throughout the shift.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor the inventory and assist with regular inventory counts.
  • Product Knowledge: Attend product knowledge sessions and regular staff meetings to stay up-to-date on the latest products and services.
  • Point of Sale: Complete guest transactions using the POS register system.
Qualifications:
  • Sales Experience: Sales experience preferred, with a background in sports/retail sales an asset.
  • Playing Experience: Playing experience in hockey or figure skating preferred.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of hockey and/or figure skating equipment preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional Appearance: Professional appearance and presentation.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
