Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer Advisor to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development
    • Perform all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
    • Analyze business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems that meet those needs.
    • Develop, test, and refine software applications to meet business requirements.
    • Document software functionality for future maintenance and updates.
    • Generate reports and data extracts based on project specifications.
    • Create models and diagrams as needed.
    • Coordinate development of deliverables and products, ensuring quality assurance.
    • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology.
  • Interface Management
    • Participate in regular meetings with customers and stakeholders.
    • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders.
    • Participate in management and process meetings.
    • Responsible for meeting and communicating program milestones and deliverables.
  • People Management
    • Monitor and manage individual performance of team members.
    • Motivate team members to promote team cohesion.
    • Provide administrative and functional support for personnel activities.
    • Work with the Program Manager to reward and recognize team members' efforts.
    • Assist the Program Manager in conducting employee performance reviews.
    • Develop team members to ensure skill levels match current and future operational and customer requirements.
    Requirements
    • BS or equivalent with a concentration in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
    • 10+ years of developing IT systems.
    • Prior experience developing GUI interfaces and/or web interfaces.
    • Experience with relational databases, preferably DB2 and/or SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
    • Experience with scripting languages.
    • Experience with source code management tools.
    • Experience managing teams and people management.
    Preferred Skills
    • Delphi, Java, C++, or other OOP Languages.
    • DB2 UDB, SQL Server, Oracle.
    • Gitlab, CVS etc.
    • Unix, Linux.
    • PERL, Python.
    Contract Requirements
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Agency specific Public Trust clearance.
    • 100% Remote work arrangement.
