Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled cybersecurity expert and software developer to assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the development of custom applications. This role will drive the implementation and strategy of secure development practices within the DHS organization and serve as a subject matter expert in development and DevOps strategies and security processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and refine secure development practices.
  • Gather requirements and develop custom applications as needed by the government.
  • Provide guidance on API security and container security, ensuring secure development practices and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining enterprise-wide security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Stay current with federal compliance requirements and industry standards to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging technologies for enhanced security.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in software development and cybersecurity roles.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java and React (HTML, CSS), with a strong focus on UI development.
  • Automated Testing: Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices.
  • CI/CD Knowledge: Strongly preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Container Knowledge: Preferred experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • IAC Tooling: Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling, specifically Terraform.
  • GCP: Strongly preferred experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • DevSecOps: Experience integrating security practices into the DevOps pipeline for secure code deployment.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with federal compliance requirements related to cybersecurity.
