About the Role

This Data Governance Expert role is a key position in the Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Client Operations, supporting the movement of $4 Trillion per day across the globe for various multi-nationals, governments, and financial institutions in over 90 countries.



About the Team

The TTS Cash Operations unit of over 6,100 professionals and 1,700 extended workforce are responsible for supporting Payments & Receivables, Cash Service, LMS & Billing, providing an unparalleled experience post-sale across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and North America.



Job Overview

The Data Governance Expert will be responsible for driving the effective implementation of the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and associated obligations, ensuring consistent adoption of the ECDO Data Quality SMP control, and coordinating with key stakeholders to drive the execution of data controls and strategic data priorities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the adoption of data governance capabilities and standards as defined by the ECDO, ensuring data quality practices are managed across TTS Ops to satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate, manage, and drive projects related to data quality, including identifying business requirements, establishing priorities, tracking projects to completion, and evaluating results.
  • Lead engagement in data quality/governance reviews, exams, and inquiries with Citi 2nd & 3rd LoDs and regulators representing TTS Ops.
  • Develop and execute influencing strategies to build and increase buy-in and business leadership support.
  • Provide technical expertise and overall expert advice (technical, functional, change management, linkage to systems redesign efforts, etc.).
  • Interface with business, key stakeholders, champions, and data quality initiatives.
  • Proactively communicate with senior leadership.
  • Identify potential re-engineering and standardization opportunities for data maintenance and utilization in alignment with regulatory and management needs.
  • Engage senior process owners for each project, locally or globally as required.
  • Define business cases and gain stakeholder buy-in for projects.
  • Educate teams in data quality tools, techniques, and principles.
  • Execute communication campaigns to senior stakeholders across all impacted areas.
  • Work with cross-business teams to ensure communication is effective and achievements are communicated in a streamlined fashion.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services, plus 3-5 years of Managerial experience.
  • Experience delivering re-engineering in a complex, multi-national banking environment.
  • Organizational and planning skills, showing an ability to operate in a multi-geography, matrix organisation; managing and where necessary leading activities through cross-functional teams, with the discipline to track delivery of complex deliverables over multiple months.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts and strategies successfully.
  • Knowledge of TTS financial products such as Payments, Liquidity, Trade Financing, etc. is desirable.
  • Proven ability to meet new challenges, assimilate new information, and to influence people through maturity of approach.
  • Solution-oriented - able to identify client pain points and suggest the path to resolution.
  • Deep subject matter expertise around e2e data flows within technology ecosystem.
  • Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects, including the ability to delegate and follow up effectively.
  • Strong people management skills to lead a motivated team and ability to coach and develop talent.
  • Execution-focused, overcomes obstacles, and minimizes bureaucracy.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives - collaborating Operations, Product & Technology.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
