This role presents an excellent opportunity to positively influence the communication abilities of diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to identify students with speech and language challenges.
  • Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapeutic interventions tailored to meet students' specific communication requirements.
  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students, either individually or in group settings.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to enhance students' communication skills in both educational and home environments.
  • Track and monitor students' progress, adjusting therapy objectives as needed, while maintaining precise documentation of therapy sessions.
  • Provide guidance and training to teachers and staff on effective speech and language strategies and necessary accommodations.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, multidisciplinary evaluations, and IEP discussions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid Virginia State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Previous experience as a School SLP is preferred; however, recent graduates with relevant clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and various communication disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
